New Testament:

Old Testament - Jesus isn’t here literally, but invite Jesus to speak to you in this scene

🌻Steps for Ignatian Prayer

St. Ignatius Loyola was a Spanish spiritual leader known for creating many contemplative spiritual practices such as “Ignatian prayer,” which is imaginativereflective, and personal. Ignatius encouraged people to develop an intimate relationship with a loving God. Ignatian prayer allows us to engage with God in a more experiential way as we enter into Bible stories.

  1. Set the scene. Read the bible story a few times.
  2. Close your eyes. Observe the scene and engage your senses (touch, sight, smell, sounds).
  3. Move from observer to a participant in the story.
  4. Have a conversation with Jesus.
