We are starting a new series as a church family called Living on Mission where we will explore how to live missionally! This month, we will follow Jesus and trace His purpose and message while He was on this earth.

God has been pursuing His people and all nations since the Old Testament. The story of living missionally did not just start with Jesus in the New Testament. In the next 4 weeks, we will be exploring how Jesus lived and how we can live like him. We want to strengthen ourselves as a church family to multiply Jesus’ gospel message and His way of living by learning from him and then living it out in our spheres of influence.

We are all called to multiply.

❤️ ACCOUNTABILITY (5 mins)

• In twos or threes, take a few minutes to check in on how you're living life with God. Share, encourage, challenge, and pray for one another.
  • Who are some obstacles you face when it comes to ‘living on mission’ that you would like to tell Jesus about? How can we pray for you?

📖 LEARN IT (40 mins)

• SCRIPTURE DISCUSSION
  • Short Context & Notes:
    • This week, pastor John shared how living on mission is successful when we are obedient. It is not about the outcome. The result is the Lord’s and not ours. This week, we will do something a little different for our “Learn it” time. We will be practicing telling our stories to each other on how Jesus touched us and changed our lives. Pastor John shared the following handout with us on Sunday. Let’s review and practice sharing our stories with each other!
    • Use these guide questions to help you:
      • There was a time in my life…. (Use three adjectives to describe yourself) before Jesus entered the picture.
      • Then, answer this question, “when Jesus touched me, I found… (three adjectives)
      • Lastly, let us know what you are like now by completing this sentence, “Now, I have… (three adjectives)
    • Practice telling your story and you can use 3 minutes instead of 30 seconds so your lifegroup members can hear your more elaborated story.
    • Get into groups of 4-5 and share your stories with each other.

QUESTIONS

1. What touched you about your lifegroup members’ stories and your own story with Jesus?
2. What do you learn about Jesus, his character and what he does through our stories?
3. How can we thank God for his character, his ways with us?
4. Which person do you want to pray for that needs to receive Jesus’ word, power or deed today?
5. Share in your group and pray together!

🎯 LIVE IT (10 mins)

• RESPOND IN SMALL GROUPS
  • Break into groups of 2–3 for the following—
    1. Sit quietly for 1-2 minutes. Ask God: “Lord Jesus, what do you want me to know from what we talked about today?” Write down what comes to mind.
       1. Example: “Heidi, I want you to know…”
    2. What is your response to God? Write it down.
       1. Example: “Lord Jesus, I will…”
    3. Share with each other how you will apply God’s truth from today’s LG. What is a specific action or thing you will do? Share with each other your “I will” statement for this week.
