💚General Role as a Prayer Minister
Your role allows for patients to feel cared for. We invite you to:
- Be warm friendly: introduce yourself, ask their name where they’re from, or any other small talk to prompt conversation. Say their name when natural as a way to show care.
- Pray with them:
- Ask if they’d like follow-up: receive more prayer, spiritual support etc.

🗨️Ways to Be Intentional
If you feel led, ask about their story. Or, ask if they’d be willing to hear some of your story. This is a great opportunity for you to tell them how Jesus has met you or changed your life. 🕊️Above all, ask the Holy Spirit to guide and show you how to love others.
Some questions you can ask folks:
- What brings you here today?
- What are joys and challenges in your life right now?
- If they share something hard, say, “That sounds hard. What do you usually do when you’re stressed? (meditate, walk, pray, etc.)” - "How is that working for you?" After they respond, “Could I share what I do?”
- “What you’re saying reminds me of something I went through. Could I share what has helped me in hard times?”
- "Where do you find hope?"
Notice what words stand out to you, and keep that in mind if you pray for and with them.
😇15-Second Testimony
If a person seems open, you can share your mini-testimony: be vulnerable about your own issues and weaknesses, and how God met you in it. This may make them feel safe to share part of their own story or want to talk about Jesus.
